Chase visits his new school and Micheal sees her classroom

today was Chase 1st day of school . he loved every minute of it , said he didnt turn a card or nothing !!! wow , i'm shocked !! I took pix of him & his classroom in the brand new school that was built last yr . Micheal started 3rd grade today . she doesnt have much to say about that either !

we went to myrtle beach with the kids in july because i wanted to take them somewhere before school started . I got lots of great shots of my babies playing around having fun .

all about travis

Wow , where to start .....it's been 3 months since my last blog . I've been a busy girl . I guess with graduating my whole world went alittle wacky . I have so many new pictures to share , so many things happened over the summer . I guess I should start with travis graduation party , birthday , and graduation. we had a cat in the hat theme , he got lots of cool things and shared wild & wacky food with many family & friends.
Travis birthday was just a family day , we made home made ice cream . Timmy & Chauncey decided to throw Travis in the pool ! lol



by the time graduation came i had cryed all the tears i had in supply and i was numb so i took pictures instead of crying .

Trying to play catch up ....

This is the 1st chance I've had to stop in the last week and let u all in on whats been going on in my life ... I went to a food show for two days last wk , learned some new plating ideas and tasted some awesome food , and got to attend a show at Whiskey River ( they had James Gregory , the comedian , do stand up for us ) My husband came home the same nite I got back from the food show after being on the rd for 16 days . so to say the least I've been running around doing things and working my tail off since he has been home . we are awaiting a call about a new job for him but in the mean time , he is H*O*M*E ! I had my 1st solo catering job last nite and cooked 18 steaks at one time and did a pretty good job at it . I love to cook for people and decorate things . So my plates are turning out awesome . I am trying to get Travis' graduation party invites done and plan things for him so i will continue to stay BUSY in the next few weeks . I will have to take some pictures of my plates to show them off ....stay tuned

Travis' Senior prom

Saturday May 2nd was also the day of my sons senior prom ! I did really well only crying twice thru the whole deal . The 1st time was when he came to me and asked for help with his tie and he had to lean way down almost in half in felt like so I could reach around his neck. the 2nd was when we were in the vehicle i borrowed from my friend Labreska . ( I borrowed her Escalade ) Travis looked real sharp in her hunter green escalade with his camo vest on !! I got to go to prom too , he wanted me there ! So I got to drive him and go in a take pictures there too . Several things happened , I talked with several people and took a few pictures in between but the most important event of the night was my son danced part of the last dance at his senior prom with his Mommy :) Oh .....did I mention my pimpin' son had TWO dates ??? ( they are seated at the table in one of the above pics with us )

Mayfest

Saturday was a busy busy day in Rutherford county ! We had our local street fair ., where tons of people crowd the streets to do nothing more than walk theirs dogs or their kids or both , or in this yrs case a GOAT hahaha ! There are tons of vendors that set up all along main st selling crafts and food , a car show and inflatables for the kids enjoyment . This yr was supposed to be our biggest one yet .

a day full of work

Today I went back to work after being sick for three days , there was lots of activity in the kitchen today getting ready for Mayfest tomorrow. Angie and Labreeska tryed their "hands " at the sausage link making ! It didnt go so well , they gave up after we all had a good laugh . Angies husband John came in and showed us all how to do it correctly ! The sausge link making took ALL day . Me , i'm not a sausage person and the smell killed me even with my stopped up nose and chest cold . Now I am not a fan of raw meat anyway and this just sealed the deal for me . those pork caseings that the sausage was being fed into , OMG !!!!! I will get some photos of the sausages tomorrow before its cooked so you can see what i'm talking about . I plan on taking pics during Mayest of my friends and co-workers doing our thing also . oh and I almost forgot , I am going to my sons senior prom tomorrow night . I hope to get some great pics of him to post . so until next time ........

taking it one day at a time

It took me awhile to gain the strength to get out of bed this morning , once I did arise and take a shower I felt just alittle better . After a few cups of hot cocoa I regained alittle voice . Today my son had to pick up his tux for his senior prom ! He tryed it on for me and wow I raised a pretty handsome young man . I cant wait til Saturday to see him get ready for real for his last high school dance . My , how time flies , it seems like only yesterday I was taking him to his kindergarten orientation .........speaking of which I took my youngest son to his kindergarten orientation this evening . He got to meet the teachers and ck out the classrooms . he seemed to really get into it and even made a couple new friends . Today marked the beginning of the end for one and the beginning of the future for the other . Travis will have plenty of advise for Chase at least .

Our very own dancing with the stars

As Ambre told in her blog a couple weeks ago we had a really cool fund raiser at our local high school . It was called Dancing with the Rutherford Stars . My friend Angie is the president of the booster club at the school and she decided we would do something different , something fun ! She asked me to help and together we came up with a list of "stars" and started asking (harassing) people until they agreed to participate . Now keep in mind it was a "fund raiser" , it all depended on who raised the most money . we laughed and cryed over and over at these practices watching the teams learn some kind of dance . Now, with the event being over for this year I can say we wee trial by error . Some teams put their whole hearts in learning their dance but didnt push for voters , other teams pounded the pavement collecting votes and didnt know how to dance worth a flip , and the grand prize winner did both ! My daughter and a friend from school were also dancers , they recieved their share of votes but went home without a trophy :( .( if it were a beauty contest she woulda won hands down , lol) we had Drs , lawyers , a state trooper , a few coaches , an 83 yr old grandfather , and several high school students paired off as teams and boy they all put on an awesome show . there were serious dances , cute dances and down right funny dances . it was an exciting , fun, crazy fund raiser and we cant wait til next year ! Hopefully we will have more interest next yr from everyone spreading the word about how good a time they had this yr.

Pizza on a stick

I found a cute summery recipe idea in a magazine the other day that I cooked for one of our lunch specials , its called pizza on a stick . using wooden kabob sticks , take slices of pepperoni , slices of onions , peppers ,cherry tomatoes , sausage balls , mushrooms and such add stab the crap outta them , lol ! wrap them in a thin layer of pizza dough and cook til bread done . before serving dump cheese over top and reheat to melt cheese . yummy yummy

starting off on not so good a note

Well this is mt 2nd day being out of work ! The pollen this spring is absolutely killing me . I have fought this mess for a week and it finally took hold of my lungs and wont let go . My oldest son just got home last night from his senior trip , he is graduating in June ! yay He is a huge help to me , lord knows what i'll do when he decides to spread his wings and fly . I'll blog alittle more in a bit , maybe post a few of the recipes ive put together at work that seem like winners .
